Final preparations for the trip

 ^
Just a reminder that this is happening in about 2 weeks as part of our trip to GCRC for a 3 day all day rc drift fest.

Tuning a new chassis

^
Tuning any new chassis is always going to be a challenging process and trying to get optimal performance out of your chassis can sometimes be easy or sometimes hard especially if you have multiple chassis with different layouts. My Rer was slightly easier to tune and performance was gained easily, however my kazama doripake is becoming more of a challenge than the Rer, the battery weight shift layout makes the rear end much more sensitive and twitchier than the Rer and compared to other doripakes i've driven the kazama really makes you concentrate on your hand reaction and throttle control. Now when it comes to tuning and settings you always start with an initial basic setup from scratch, drive it, have a feel and then go from there and make minor changes as you go and see where it leads you

here's what i'm experimenting with ....

That RWD front geometry

^
A common question asked when owning or building a RWD chassis is LOCK ... is it enough? or how can i how can i get enough? ... so what is enough lock? well to me getting enough lock depends on a few factors, track layout and design, track surface, tires, and most importantly style and skill ... the way you setup your chassis and how much lock you use should involve all these factors. If you follow re xtreme's blog and read it regularly, he states that sharing setups over the internet don't make it applicable at times since there are so many factors involved. People are particular about the way they setup front geometry for rwd based on experience and how they like the way something feels when they drive and not everyone is the same.

Kazama DP tuning session

The kazama DP is feeling a bit closer to how i want it to handle so here's a clip of how its running with its current settings, i've got a few more tests to do before i can share and post its setup. ATM i'm loving the feeling of the DP and its proving to be an amazing chassis since i customised it.

sleepy eyez ...

 final details

The last and final part came in for my 180sx so i wasted no time on having these installed and theony reason i wanted these was so i could have sleepy eyes on my 180sx i wasn't going to go a far as motorised flip up head lights, i just wanted the look and i hate running lights too.

Had to modify them a bit so i could place my magnets for the body mounts.

The look i was going for pretty much.

4 Door Fest

4 Door Festa

For months now the team has been talking about taking a trip over to GCRC to drift with re-xtreme and the rest of the boys at GCRC and this April we're finally going, flights booked, accommodation booked, rental car book and drift chassis ready ... next month we are excited to go for 3 days of just pure RWD rc drift all day, as part of our trip we have also had the pleasure of holding 4 door shell body comp ... ONE10 love 4 doors!! ... i've organised my 4 door shell for the trip which is the same as the picture above .. FNATZ JX100 MARK II. Hopefully if i don't get to excited about the trip and the comp i should be able to update you of our drift trip.

Kazama pake has electronics

The kazama finally came out better looking than i expected it to be, the build took me awhile due to

Green machine in action - photo's by DAGUL RC

The more i drifted this the more i enjoyed sliding this shell. I very rarely drift with 2door shells and i gota say its very satisfying, i think i'll be taking a 2door and a 4door to every session.

Yokomo toyo GP Sports 180sx

I got another body to do and this shell has just recently grown on me, i'm undecided on which way i wanna go with my zenki S14 so while i have a ponder this one will fill the void .. haha

-yokomo team toyo tires gp sports 180sx
-yokom toyo gp sports 180sx light buckets
-yokomo alloy wing stay mounts
-WUN 3d toyo 180sx decals
-SPW aero side mirror
-SPW muffler

(i just missing d-magic pop-up lights)

For a little bit of extra style i gave the 180sx the extra font lip and side lip for another street scraper look but still keeps it flush sitting on the donuts.

stay tuned...

re-tuning for a new track

Tonight i was able to get down to the new track since its opening and have a good slide session and feel for the track ... a new track and surface meant a complete re-tune of the dlike, the surface was super slippery compared to the old surface. The first thing was tire choice and my chosen tires for the rear was a set of DS RACING SERIES II CS FFF ZERO'S as for the front i still haven't decided as to what tire suit best, tonight i tested out CS F ZERO'S and RWD F1'S both actually worked great, the chassis also went on a diet and lost a few grams, which means i'm running no added extra weight on the chassis ... i'll need to get a few more sessions in until i find that sweat spot again.
